The roastery has been located under our shop in Ghent since the 1980s. The current business is run by Louis Vandekerckhove, a 5th generation coffee roaster (!) and Anna Bargiel, barista and tea expert.
In our store you experience the entire coffee process, from green bean to the perfectly brewed cup of coffee.
Our beloved house blend 'Melange Rimbaud'. It is a tribute to the writer Arthur Rimbaud who, like the roastery, saw the light in the year 1854 and after his career as a rebellious poet chose a life as a coffee trader in Harrar, Ethiopia. This couldn't be a coincidence! That is why we chose him to become the face of our business.
Soon we will open a new coffee factory in the Tapuitstraat, where we will only roast organically grown coffees and where possible Fair Trade. In this way we want to contribute to a better world.
