Change Your Eating Habits

This article is written in the context of the Belmundo Festival. For this edition we want to go for system change.

Change the world from within your kitchen like Fien and Frankli did. Here you can see what they have made with fair products. All the delicious products on the ingredients list that you can buy fair in an Oxfam-Wereldwinkels, are marked by *.

You can find the recipes for breakfast and lunch below. You can watch the accompanying videos via the buttons, and see for yourself how easy it is to make the switch!

Mango kokonut granola

Ontbijt instastory


  • 1 1/2 cup oat flakes
  • 1/4 cup uncooked quinoa*
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds*
  • 1/2 cup almonds* chopped into bits
  • 1 handful of dried mango* chopped into bits
  • 1/4 cup coconut chips*
  • 2 tbsp honey*
  • 1 tbsp agave syrup*
  • 1 tbsp coconut sugar*
  • 1/4 cup melted coconut oil*
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • a pinch of salt


  1. Preheat the oven to 150°C and place a baking mat/baking paper on your baking sheet.
  2. Mix the oat flakes, quinoa, chia seeds, almonds, mango and coconut chips in a large bowl.
  3. Mix the remaining ingredients in a smaller bowl. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Mix everything together.
  4. Press the mixture onto your baking sheet. Place it in the oven and bake for 15 min. Next you turn your baking sheet in the oven, lower the temperature to 100°C and let it bake for another 10 min.
  5. Allow to cool completely, then break the granola into pieces. Store in a hermetic container.


Lunch still


  • 3 tbsp soy sauce*
  • 1 tbsp sweet chili sauce*
  • 1 tsp garlic paste*
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 nest of white rice noodles*
  • 1 tbsp rice oil
  • 1 chicken breast or ½ can young jackfruit*


  1. Mix the soy sauce, sweet chili, sesame oil and garlic paste in a bowl.
  2. Dice the chicken or rinse your jackfruit.
  3. Pour the rice oil into the pan and fry your meat or substitute until done.
  4. Meanwhile, cook the noodles in water for 3 min.
  5. Add the sauce and noodles to the pan.
  6. Mix everything together.
  7. Let this cook for another minute.
  8. Serve, bon appetit!

  • 1 onion
  • 1 big carrot
  • a handful of mushrooms
  • 1 big parsnip
  • 1 potato
  • 2 tbsp olive oil*
  • 1 can (250g) red kidney beans*
  • 2 tsp garlic paste*
  • 1 tin (70g) of tomato purée
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 JUSTE brown*
  • 0,5 l vegetable stock
  • 1 tsp muscovado cane sugar
  • black pepper*
  • a pinch of cinnamon*
  • sea salt with green herbs*
  • 1 cup quinoa*
Avondmaal instastory


  1. Chop the onion, carrot, mushrooms, parsnip and potato.
  2. Add the olive oil to a saucepan and stew the vegetables.
  3. Add the kidney beans along with the garlic paste and tomato purée.
  4. Let this all stew for about 5 minutes.
  5. Pour the JUSTE into the vegetables and add the vegetable stock and bay leaf.
  6. Let simmer until the vegetables are soft and the sauce has thickened.
  7. Cook the quinoa as instructed on the package.
  8. Season the stew with a pinch of cinnamon, 1 tsp muscovado sugar, pepper and salt to taste.
  9. Let it all settle, serve and enjoy!
